Just a piece of freedom

Documentary

Synopsis

The “Just a Piece of Freedom” mural was founded by Old Saybrook High School student, Nick Chacha. The mural represents the diversity of our students through heritage and talent as the Old Saybrook Public School system believes in offering its students the freedom to rise to be whatever they want to be.

An application went out to all student’s families to be selected to be painted within the mural. These students explained their interests, passions, and what living in Old Saybrook meant to them.

This mural was painted on the side of River Mart the week of June 13th to represent the amazing students of the Old Saybrook School district. International mural artist Rafael Blanco will be here working with students to create an interactive art experience.
